About the Movement

One More Visit.
That’s the Whole Idea.

Here’s a truth most people never hear: winning one brand-new customer costs a small business $8–$12 in marketing before that customer ever spends a dime. But when someone they already know walks in one more time, that cost disappears — the revenue stays with the business, and in Victoria. Small businesses don’t need more sales pitches. They need more frequency. That’s the whole movement: one more visit, from people who already love them.

One more visit matters. ♥

Why It Matters

Victoria is home to more than 3,000 small businesses — the shops, kitchens, studios, and services that give our town its character, employ our neighbors, and pay the rent and taxes that keep our community strong.

And local dollars multiply. Independent studies show that roughly 52¢ of every dollar spent at a local retailer stays in the local economy — at a national chain, it’s about 14¢. At local restaurants it’s even stronger: 79¢ versus 30¢. When a local business loses its regulars, it closes quietly. Our answer is simple: be a regular — one more visit than you’re already making.

Our Story

Shop Twice Victoria was founded by Sara Vela — a 5th-generation Victorian, 14 years a small business owner, and the family behind Vela Farms. She knows exactly what one more customer walking through the door means, because she's lived both sides of it: the hard seasons that nearly closed her own doors, and the faith and neighbors that kept them open. When beloved Victoria businesses began closing, she decided watching wasn't enough.

“How can my $20 or $30 make that big of a difference? It’s simple. If you go there once a month, go twice. That doubles our business. That’s it. That’s all it takes… Don’t double your ticket — just go into that store one more time a month. For small businesses, you’re not a customer, you’re a friend. We love seeing you. Shop twice, my dear sweet Victorians. Help us all thrive.
